Wellness in Practice
My practice is focused on providing wellness education on a variety of topics for people in healthcare, non-profit, community, business, higher education and other settings around the Twin Cities.
I have been studying the healing arts since 1995 and am currently a graduate intern studying acupuncture and Oriental medicine. I have two primary areas of interest. One is Oriental medicine based gastroenterology, specifically the role it can play in recovering digestive health for people with chronic issues such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and depression. The other is hospice and end of life care.
Through better digestion, the process of inflammation can be reduced, blood sugar can be stabilized, neurotransmitters can function more efficiently, nutrients can be better absorbed and much more. As a result, many symptoms of these disorders can often be lessened or alleviated.
Regarding end of life care, Oriental medicine is perfectly suited for hospice and palliative care. Because it's holistic in nature, not only does it offer physical relief from issues like pain and nausea, it can also provide a deep level of psychological and spiritual support.
